ABI EC Data Synchronization/RFID Forum 2006

In early October 2006 over 55 members of the alcohol beverage industry representing wine, spirits, and beer suppliers, distributors, control states, trade associations, and solution providers gathered in Las Vegas to learn about data synchronization, global standards, and Electronic Product Code/Radio Frequency Identification (EPC/RFID) technology. Sponsored and hosted by ABI EC, the Forum offered informative sessions presenting basic information, real world experiences and future looks at how technology will be leveraged to make the industry’s supply chain, information exchange, and even sales calls, more efficient.

Presentations were delivered by Southern Wine & Spirits, Glazer’s, SUPERVALU, Wegmans, GS1 US, the North American Beverage Control Association (NABCA), Coca-Cola, and others. Event presentations are available for download below.

The consensus was that data synchronization will benefit the industry through the improved exchange of accurate information and several attendees indicated they plan to initiate data synchronization projects at their organizations. Watch this area for more information on the alcohol beverage industry’s data synchronization efforts and progress.
