Alcohol Beverage Industry-Specific Sessions Sponsored by ABI EC
The Benefits and Capabilities of Automation in the Beer Distribution Industry For more than seventy-five years the beer distribution system has been a model regulated at the state level because of the unique product attributes it passes only from licensed suppliers and importers to state and federally licensed distributors, to state licensed retailers. Within the framework of this regulation there are numerous automated benefits beer suppliers and distributors can offer to their retail partners. From EDI and EFT to the emergence of data synchronization, the beer industry has worked to embrace technologies that make retailer transactions simpler, more efficient and more accurate. Please join leading industry suppliers, distributors and retailers for this seminar highlighting recent automation developments throughout the beer industry.
Session attendees are invited to stay for refreshments and networking.
Speakers: Representatives from Darden Restaurants, Inc., Elyxir Distributing, Grey Eagle Distributors, MillerCoors LLC, New Belgium Brewing Company, Inc. |

A Beverage World Report: The Alcohol Beverage Industry and Data Synchronization The Alcohol Beverage Industry Electronic Commerce Council (ABI EC) has engaged Beverage World’s Research Division to examine the industry’s status, plans, and direction for data synchronization. At this session Beverage World will release the results of their research and provide analysis and commentary of where the industry stands and where it is going as it moves toward cleaner and more accurate information. Survey invitations were sent to a broad group of suppliers, retailers, distributors, and others in the wine, spirits, and beer industries to ensure representative responses from all segments and tiers of the supply chain. Join us for what should be an interesting presentation and analysis.
Speaker: Jeff Cioletti, Editor-in-Chief, Beverage World Magazine
Mobile Commerce and the Alcohol Beverage Industry As more and more consumers rely upon cell phones and PDA’s to access product information anytime and from anywhere; the alcohol beverage industry will need to understand and leverage the opportunities and implications of these emerging developments. There is more and more interest from consumers about what ingredients are in a product, what allergens it might contain, its nutritional value, where the product came from and much, much, more. This session will provide some ideas and views of how mobile commerce might be used by consumers with alcohol beverage and other products to deliver more information quickly and efficiently to consumers through their personal devices.
Speakers: Cameron Green, Sr. Manager, Global Solutions, GS1 Global Office
